How do you know how old a roof is?
Every legitimate roof replacement in Florida requires a permit, and permits are public county records with dates. We index those records across Jacksonville (Duval), Pinellas County, and Tampa. If the last roofing permit on an address is from 2003, that roof is documented at 20+ years old.
My address shows no result — what does that mean?
One of three things: the roof was permitted within the last 15 years (it only lists roofs 15+ years past their last permit), the address is outside our covered markets, or the county records the address differently — try just the street number and street name.
Why does roof age matter for insurance in Florida?
